My late Fathers WW2 medals had been in a drawer for many years and I decided it was time to display or clean them. I looked on the internet and found Worldwide Medal Framing and Steve who was based about an hours drive from us, after completing an enquiry I was contacted by Steve who answered any questions that I had and soon had the go ahead from me to proceed. We were able to drive to his workshop with the photo we wanted to use and got the guided tour from Steve. The framing only took about a week and we were contacted by Steve to arrange collection, my wife and myself travelled to his workshop to collect it a couple of days later. I could not be better pleased with the result, set against the colours of The Royal Engineers my Fathers medals are now displayed for all to see cleaned up and shiny with a brass name plaque and his wedding photo behind Art glass which helps to stop any fading. In 2007, I was awarded my Police Long Service and Good Conduct medal. After a cursory search, I was unable to find a frame or case that I liked, and the medal and its box went into a desk drawer. I retired from the Police in July 2013, and recently resumed looking for a medal case. When I saw yours on eBay, I immediately liked the dramatic dark blue background, and I especially liked the way that you used a horizontal piece of chequered cap band to suggest the Police.

I looked into several other medal framers before deciding to use WMF. Some of the others may be a bit cheaper but often only offer a one size fits all standard frame fitted with Perspex not Art Glass glazing. Rather than leaving Dads medals hidden away in a drawer we decided to have them displayed in a frame.
